The Secret Bridesmaid by Katy Birchall
This was funny and sweet and I had a great time! Sophie is a professional bridesmaid. That's her job. Brides that want to plan their own weddings but need a little help hire her and she does the things they can't do; it's like having a wedding planner but not. Enter Cordelia. She is titled. Literally. She is Lady Cordelia. And she is NOT easy to work with. She does not want a professional bridesmaid and does everything in her power to get "Emily" to quit. But, this job ends up being good for both of them and they become actual friends. Until the night of her bachelorette, which is just the two of them drinking at a hole in the wall bar. Cordelia tells her the story of how she and a former friend had a falling out because she OD'ed and the friend stopped coming around. The story hits the papers and they all automatically assume it was her. Turns out it was the barman. Cordelia shows up on the day before her wedding to apologize and ask her to be her bridesmaid for real and they make up. Sophie has now come clean to her entire family about the top secret wedding she was working on, and to Cordelia's family who didn't realize they weren't actually friends. And she starts dating Cordelia's hot older brother Tom. This was so good, the friendship, the laughs, the romance. All of it!
