Empire of the Black Sea by Duane W. Roller
I'm going to be super honest, the subtitle on the audiobook is VERY small and I didn't see it so I 100% thought this was a book about pirates and was very confused when it started. *whoops* I would probably not have listened to it had I realized what it was really about because this is not the kind of book I can absorb through audio. I need this in physical form so I can annotate it and take notes. I gave it 3* because it was easy to consume, particularly for a historical work. The vocabulary was not overwhelming like can often be the case. However, EVERYONE HAS THE EXACT SAME NAME. That made this hard to digest. Another reason why this would be better in physical form.
