Great Start

 Cappadonna by Jahquel J. 

I was ecstatic when I found out this was available at the library and not just on Kindle Unlimited (full on Keegan Michael Key "I've been waiting for this"). I immediately put it on hold without looking to see if they had every book in this season; they don't :( This starts with Cappadonna home and re-acclimated to life outside of prison. He hasn't been to see Kendra and she hasn't tried to call him. He is over her especially when he learns that Chubbs is his son and she hid that from him. Chubbs also knows that Cap is his father but doesn't know how to bring it up. Cap finally does and it's sweet. Chubbs only calls Kendra by her first name which pisses her off, but his aunt raised him and he calls her mom. Kendra sucks and I can't stand her. She has been cheating on Cap with some guy that I can't remember his name and she fully is engaged to him. Cap finds out she was lying to him about the guy, finds them while they are on a date, and smashes his head into his plate. The guy tricks Kendra to marrying him and then, to get back at Cap, shoots Chubbs thinking he's just a random member of Caps' crew. The book ends with Cap in the hospital waiting on news about Chubbs and the sister of the guy who shot him shows up. Cap has already met her; he showed up at her hospital room after she had a baby. Turns out Chubbs is the father and Cap almost killed the mother of his grandson. And the book ends with us not knowing if Chubbs survives or not. Meanwhile, Alaia is back in the picture. Her "husband" had been killed and she's super pregnant. Cap sees her while she's on the way to the laundry mat and he helps her. He takes her back to her house, gives her his phone number, and always answers when she calls. Her husbands brother shows up and says she is his wife now; she does not like this plan. He sees her with Cap twice and the second time he beats the shit out of her. She calls Cap and he takes her to his lake house. Then, he puts the fear of God in the new husband, aka Tweety. Cap makes his intentions known to Alaia from the start and he even goes to her birthing classes with her. His family loves her. Erin and his mom help her get ready for the baby. He is all in. I am obsessed with the Delgato Family but I have to cool my jets since the library only has up to Cappadonna 2.5.
