The Mistake by Elle Kennedy
I am a John Logan girl! Logan has a terrible crush on Hannah and it's impacting his relationship with Garrett. It's also causing him to make horrible choices with women. He shows up to his a dorm to party, only it's not the right room room. It's Grace's. They end up hanging out and watching a movie. He kisses her then leaves. He can't stop thinking about her. They spend some more time together. She tries to sleep with him and he tells her he has a thing for someone else and doesn't want to use her. He leaves and is miserable. He tells Hannah about it and she confronts him about his feelings. He realizes he doesn't actually like her, he wants what she and Garrett have. He calls Grace to apologize and she doesn't answer. But, he does get a text from her roomie and best friend offering to hook up with him! He forwards the message to Grace and tries to figure out how to win her back. Grace and the roomie have a huge fight. Grace ends up giving Logan a list of romantic gestures he needs to complete in order to convince her that he's serious about her. They reconcile and everything is good. But, in the background is his family issue. He is good enough to go pro and has some serious interest, but he can't. He and his brother made a deal: brother will take care of dad and the shop while Logan goes to college then it's Logan's turn so brother can travel with his girlfriend. Logan has a bad day taking care of his dad and misses dinner with Grace and her dad. He ends up crying on her dad's shoulder. He and coach have a confrontation about him not responding to any agents or teams. Coach shows up at his dad's house and has a meeting with him and basically tells him he's ruining Logan's life. John gets a call from his brother and they have a family meeting. Dad tells him that he's going to rehab, that John needs to talk to the agent, and that older brother can sell the shop or hire someone to run things while dad is getting help. The epilogue is John making his professional debut and Grace is with Hannah in the box with the other wives. I was so worried about how everyone was going to get the happiness they deserved and I shouldn't have been. I can't wait for the next book!
