History

Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds

This was history light in the sense that it touched on a lot of history but did not go deep into any of it. Yes, there were some dates (if you study history you know that history loves dates) but that was not the main focus, instead the dates were there to give you the context. This was more about understanding how and why the United States looks and acts the way it does. It focuses on the systems that have been built and who they benefit. It encourages you to look at how you personally benefit from and participate in said systems. It was an interesting and accessible read.
